A2.  Solace Eco-Friendly Casualty Containment   

The sad truth is, with almost any disaster that results in traumatic displacement, some or many precious lives are lost.

 

While such sorrowful loss is difficult to comprehend, another looming truth is that the hasty and improper disposal of these casualties can cause survivors, already weakened by crisis, to be exposed to many deadly communicable, infectious and dangerous diseases.

 

Such diseases caused by decomp contagions include, 

~Cholera,

~Dysentery,

~Hepatitis A and D, and

~Leptospirosis

 

 

Quite often mass casualties are simply wrapped and buried in a large communal pit grave. This allows no protection from the leaching of deadly disease into water sources, crop soil and supplies. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the cost to treat these diseases exceeds the expenses associated with the actual disaster.   

Every single life that is lost to disaster and severe trauma was somebody's loved one. Would it be GOOD ENOUGH to bury your loved one without Acknowledgement, Respect, Reverence, Love?

 

Absolutely Not.

 

The idea is ludicrous. Why should we tolerate less for our Global family?

         olace Casualty Containment structures are inexpensive ($50-$75 US), eco-friendly and treated with a disintegrating glossy water-resistant coating that will effectively contain human remains for around 2 years. As the remains decompose, so does the primary fiberboard material while effectively protecting the surrounding environment from leaching uncontained contaminants. 

 

Our Solace Containment Structures are styled to perfectly mimic polished wood grain and offered with many custom styles that can reflect and personalize the lost.

 

SadieShelter Solace Containment Structures are shipped flat in 2 primary pieces. The shipping dimensions are 6"-10"H X 22"-84"L X 24" X 46"W. 

 

These structures are packaged separately and can be selected and stacked per need and number on any standard pallet. Depending on the sizes required, our structures can be stacked between 6-15 per pallet. Each full pallet of structures is then wrapped securely and can be neatly shipped and distributed or dropped on site.

In 2012, my husband's nephew returned home, to Colorado, after serving his 3rd tour in Afghanistan. One of his fellow soldiers was killed by flying shrapnel as he slept within a standard canvas military tent the night before he was also scheduled to come home.

 

Our soldiers, on the ground, resting between days of service, deserve the BEST of EVERYTHING.

 

Chris's friend died because canvas cannot stop shrapnel. Canvas cannot stop a blade or a boot or a bullet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SadieShelter ELITE structures are less expensive than any typical military canvas tent troop quarters. Our structures can be assembled in about     minutes, are light weight, package and stack well for distribution and endure even extreme conditions for no less than 6 months and typically endure with complete functionality for 2 years.

 

Our structures are harmless to the environment, constructed from recycled materials that are ALL MANUFACTURED IN THE US, and once properly can be moved as one piece by one person. 

 

Our double-walls can be filled with any dry insulation material, like paper and leaves when the environment is mild, to protect inhabitants from extreme weather, temperature and difficult terrain.

 

But when the site is threatened by violence and assault, our structures and systems will provide superior protection for our precious soldiers. 

 

Our 4" spaced standard double-walls, with also the optional double-walled "Ballistic Insert", can be filled with soil materials found on site, sand, gravel or a mixture of these, to make our walls capable of stopping any small-arms gun-propelled projectiles and shrapnel.

It seems like every time my husband or I speak to anyone about SadieShelter and our structures, they have an instant idea about another application that hadn't occured to us! It's so fun collecting ideas that expand our vision and potential.
